Polyproject: Forces AVENIR 2011 gala finalist!
Established by engineering enthusiasts who wish to take part in major competitions, the society's main goal the design and
production of a highly promising invention with the aim of bringing it to market. The committee achieved a remarkable
breakthrough in just a few months of existence with its very first invention, a fibre optic sensory glove. This glove can model
a hand's movements in space precisely and in real time, allowing for communication with deaf-mutes. Exceeding all expectations,
the design and production of the prototype has earned the technical society several awards, including third prize in the
Innovative Design category at the prestigious 2011 Canadian Engineering Competition. Steps are currently under way to patent
the product.
