Projets efficaces pour une mobilité durable – Facteurs de succès
A detailed and
well-researched book, Projets efficaces begins by listing various consequences of our love affair with the automobile
and explains why it is imperative that we reconsider the ways in which we get around. It then provides a definition of
sustainable mobility and describes how this concept can be applied in concrete terms. The second part of the book is aimed at
providing readers with the necessary tools to promote sustainable mobility, introducing and explaining the factors that
contribute to the success of projects embracing this goal.
This book is intended for all those who want to know more about the problems posed by excessive car use and how to tackle them, be they students, researchers, transportation infrastructure developers, stakeholders in public institutions or simply involved citizens.
Julie Guicheteau has a master's degree in civil engineering with a specialisation in the environment. Her master's research project earned her three important awards. Ms. Guicheteau previously worked as an environmental analyst with the Société de transport de Montréal and is currently a climate change engineer with the Ville de Montréal.
Louise Millette has been Director of the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal since 2002. A specialist in environmental management, she works actively to incorporate sustainable development principles into formal engineering training. Ms. Millette is also very involved in the municipal scene, sitting on several boards of directors and serving as vice-chair of the executive committee of Québec's Conseil supérieur de l'éducation.
