Louise Millette named to Canadian Brownfields Network Advisory Panel
"I am very pleased to accept this invitation, which is perfectly in keeping with my involvement over the past
few years in the field of site rehabilitation," Ms. Millette noted.
Ms. Millette has imported her interest in environmental issues to Polytechnique. She is a participant in two related graduate-level courses: B CIV 6216, "Biorestoration of Contaminated Soils," and GLM 6110, "Contaminated Soils: Impacts and Restoration."
"Given that I am extremely concerned about the need to foster conditions conducive to the restoration of brownfields in urban settings, I have taken part in a great many discussions in this area, for example as part of the work of the experts' task force on Bill 71 with the Québec Environment Ministry, and those of the table de concertation (roundtable) on management and enhancement of contaminated sites in the Montréal region."
Ms. Millette also recently accepted a seat on the board of the directors of the Montréal Centre of Excellence in Brownfields Rehabilitation (MCEBR).
