Four Polytechnique Montréal students were honoured during the very first awards ceremony of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Foundation on March 21. The OIQ and its foundation presented these awards and scholarships in order to encourage the next generation of engineers.

Anne-Marie Lanouette, a mechanical engineering student, received the 1er Prix universitaire du mérite, worth $7,500. These scholarships are awarded to engineering students who are members of the OIQ's Student Section and whose academic results and social and community commitment reflect the values of the profession.

 Anne-Marie Lanouette receives her award from Maud Cohen, President of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

 In addition, three Polytechnique Montréal students received OIQ Scholarships for the Future, worth $5,000 each. These scholarships are intended to provide financial support to eight undergraduate engineering students.

The three Polytechnique winners are:
Benoit Auclair,
a biomedical engineering student;
Catherine G. Couturier,
an industrial engineering student;
Laurent Doré-Mathieu, an engineering physics student.

Our heartiest congratulations to the winners!
