INVITATION - École Polytechnique de Montréal hosts the 2006 Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC 2006)

More than 150 students go head-to-head in the largest student engineering  competition in the world!

The 22nd Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC) brings together more than 150 of the top engineering students from 22 Canadian universities from March 9 to 12. The event will take place at the Plaza Hotel Centre-Ville and at École Polytechnique de Montréal, which is hosting the event for the first time since 1999.

During this extraordinary encounter, the crème de la crème of tomorrow's engineers will compete in six categories: Engineering Communication, Innovative Design, Consulting Engineering, Extemporaneous Debate, Team Design, and Senior Team Design. Four special prizes will also be awarded: Environmental Awareness, Technical Excellence, Social Awareness, and Team Spirit.

Competitions will take place before live audiences from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 11. This will be a unique opportunity to watch contestants resolve technological problems, test their prototypes and hold debates on a number of topical issues!

Media representatives are invited to attend the competitions on Saturday, March 11, at the Plaza Hotel Centre-Ville (505 Sherbrooke Street East):

Innovative Design: stands are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Extemporaneous Debate: morning session beginning at 8 a.m. (Bellefleur Room) and afternoon session at 3 p.m. (Van Gogh-Renoir Room)
Team Design: 8 a.m. (Fortin Room)
Senior Design: 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Van Gogh-Renoir Room)
