Michael Buschmann, spécialiste réputé en génie tissulaire du cartilage et en biomécanique d'implants médicaux, a reçu le Prix Innovateur en raison de son rôle de premier plan dans la création et le développement de BioSyntech. BioSyntech, qui produit des biomatériaux et des implants destinés à la médecine régénérative et à l'administration de produits thérapeutiques, a notamment mis en application nombre de résultats des recherches de M. Buschmann.
The Partnership Award is awarded jointly to a company and an organization involved in a technology partnership project which has clearly benefited from this shared expertise. The partnership must have led to a new product/process/technology and result from an R&D program carried out by the institution for the benefit of the company which integrated it and ensured its successful commercialization. The new product/process/ technology must have involved a decisive transfer of expertise from the institution to the company. Morevoer, it must have had a positive impact on the company. For instance, it may have resulted in technological progress, improved products, better technological performance or increased sales.
