Biography
Eric Germain is a Teaching Professor in Computer and Software Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. Before joining the faculty, he was a Data Scientist within a large strategy and digital transformation consulting firm. During his career, he worked as a project leader in manufacturing setting, and as a consultant in productivity improvement, in scientific research and experimental development experimental, and in software processes. He also worked in university administration, notably as Head of Programs of Study Development and Evaluation at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). He held positions as sessional lecturer at Polytechnique Montréal, ÉTS and CeFTI Université de Sherbrooke. He is a board member of the Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA/ACÉG) and chaired the Computers chapter of IEEE Montréal (2003-2005). He holds degrees in Industrial Engineering (B.Ing., 1992) and Computer Engineering (M.Sc.A., 2004) from Polytechnique Montréal, as well as in Business Analytics (M.Sc., 2019) from HEC Montréal. He has been a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec’s Disciplinary Council since 2007. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and a Chartered Administrator in Québec.
