Research interests
The Photochemical Surface Engineering Laboratory (PhotoSEL) conducts research in the following fields:
- Photochemical surface engineering and functionalization;
- Gas phase treatment methods (PICVD, chemical reactions, plasma);
- Nanoparticle stabilization and dispersion, to prevent and reverse agglomeration;
- Biobased nanomaterials (cellulose nanocrystals) and alternate nanoparticle sources (e.g. ash);
- Valorization of domestic and industrial waste streams;
- Agriculture materials and water management in greenhouses;
- Atmospheric water harvesting;
- Polymer nanocomposites (heating and welding applications).
