Biography
Hussein Suprême is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and is also a Research Scientist at Institut de recherche d’Hydro‑Québec (IREQ). His research focuses on advanced planning and control of power systems in the context of the energy transition, including large‑scale modeling and simulation, optimization, and the integration of renewable energy sources and distributed energy resources. He is recognized for his major contributions to the development of industrial‑grade simulation platforms and decision‑support tools, as well as for his work on flexibility and reliability assessment of decarbonized power systems.
