Biography

Elmira Hassanzadeh est professeure adjointe au département de génie civil, géologique et des mines de Polytechnique de Montréal depuis 2018. Ses recherches portent sur la compréhension, la modélisation et la gestion de systèmes complexes de ressources en eau dans le cadre du changement climatique et de l'intervention anthropique. Avant de se joindre à Polytechnique, Elmira a travaillé comme associée de recherche à l’Université McGill et a fait un postdoctorat à l’Université de la Saskatchewan. Elle a terminé son doctorat en génie civil à l'Université de la Saskatchewan, où elle a proposé de nouvelles méthodologiques pour soutenir la gestion de l'eau à grande échelle dans des avenirs incertains. Elle a été conférencière principale et membre du panel lors de divers séminaires et conférences. Ses travaux de recherche ont été publiés dans des revues de premier plan et ont suscité l’intérêt de la communauté scientifique, notamment son article sur la modélisation du lac d’Urmia, en Iran, qui est l’article le plus cité sur ce lac à ce jour.
