Detailed description
I am looking for motivated students interested in developing numerical methods for simulating wave propagation in complex heterogeneous media, as part of a research-based Master’s or Ph.D. program.
The projects cover various aspects of computational electromagnetics, from theory to implementation, including the development of high-order methods and the enforcement of mathematical models to simulate the electromagnetic responses of thin layers of superconductors and metamaterials.
For more information about my research, prospective candidates are invited to visit my website: https://yannmeinglaw.github.io/
Candidates should have a strong interest and solid backgrounds in mathematics and programming. Prior experience with the Julia programming language is preferred.
Students will receive funding for the duration of their studies, subject to certain conditions. The start date is flexible: Fall 2025 or Winter 2026. Depending on the student’s interests and the research project, there may be opportunities for international internships.
If you are interested, please contact me at yann-meing.law@polymtl.ca so we can arrange a meeting to discuss a project aligned with your interests! Please also send me your CV, official transcripts, and a motivation letter.
