Marie-Claude Hamel, Director of Polytechnique's science camp Folie Technique, wins the jury prize at the Prix Relève d'Excellence gala for HEC Montréal alumni
The winners of the 29th edition of the Prix Relève d'Excellence (next-generation excellence awards) were announced May 15 during a gala organized by Réseau HEC Montréal, the HEC Montréal alumni association. With Charles Guay, President and CEO of Standard Life Canada, as Honorary Chair, the evening brought together some 300 alumni and businesspeople to salute the next generation's determination, talent and accomplishments.

(BAA 2009, HEC Montréal) took the jury prize for her accomplishments as Director of Folie Technique, Polytechnique Montréal's
science camp for children. Folie Technique aims to promote the sciences to young people aged 7 to 17 through a range of summer
science camp programs, but also through a panoply of activities that take place year-round in schools throughout Québec. Most
of these activities are offered free of charge. When she took the position, Ms. Hamel's goal was clear: to improve the
non-profit organization's financial situation. She carried off that challenge with flair, forging partnerships with various
sponsors and developing new programs.
The Prix Relève d'Excellence have been organized by the Réseau HEC Montréal since 1985. Their goal is to recognize and reward the professional success of HEC Montréal alumni aged 35 and under. By publicly celebrating those who have distinguished themselves within their fields, the Prix Relève d'Excellence encourage excellence among young managers, professionals and entrepreneurs.
