Folie Technique wins an Excellence Award at the 23rd Association des camps du Québec (ACQ) Excellence Gala
Before some 200 guests, Polytechnique Montréal's Folie Technique camp accepted an Excellence Award at the 23rd ACQ Excellence Gala, held November 14 in Victoriaville.
Polytechnique's science day camp earned the Excellence Award in the Promotion and Marketing category for its 2012 campaign. This award recognizes the innovation and originality in the promotion and marketing techniques, methods and actions undertaken by the camp to reach its goals.
Over the last school year, Folie Technique undertook to interest young people in science in a concrete way. Folie Technique provided in-school workshops free of charge to over 4,000 students in disadvantaged Montréal neighbourhoods, and organized a science rally to attract teenagers. The most deserving young people were even offered free camp registrations and bursaries by Polytechnique. These programs were developed thanks to grants and generous sponsors. All these projects, combined with a revamping of the camp's visual identity, gave the day camp strong visibility.
Folie Technique is a non-profit organization created in 1991 on the initiative of a group of Polytechnique Montréal students. Since its beginnings, Folie Technique's objective has been to demystify science for elementary and high school students through various educational and fun activities. The organization is known for its innovative and interesting activities, as well as for its social engagement, involving nearly 20,000 young people each year.
Our sincerest congratulations to Folie Technique!
