CANADA RESEARCH CHAIRS PROGRAM - ÉCOLE POLYTECHNIQUE DE MONTRÉAL PROFESSORS MOHAMAD SAWAN AND FRANÇOIS SOUMIS RECEIVE RENEWED SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT OF CANADA
The Canada Research Chair in Intelligent Medical Devices and the Canada Research Chair in Large Transportation Network
Optimization (LTNO) will each benefit from a $1.4-million research grant ($200,000 per year over seven years).
"The renewal of funding for these two research chairs vividly demonstrates the importance that the Government of Canada
ascribes to initiatives related to health and the economy," noted Christophe Guy, Chief Executive Officer of École
Polytechnique de Montréal. "Polytechnique is a cradle of impressive discoveries and technological innovations that contribute
significantly to improved quality of life for the citizens of Québec and the rest of Canada." Polytechnique is currently home
to 25 Canada Research Chairs.
