Three students win prizes for their personal electrical engineering projects

On August 22, prizes were awarded in recognition of the best personal projects completed by third-year electrical engineering students as part of the course Projet personnel en génie électrique ("personal electrical engineering project," or ELE3000).


Under the direction of a professor or engineer designated by the Department, the students were assigned a design and engineering project. They needed to produce a professional-quality report that generally included a survey of previous work, the definition and situation of the problem, the chosen solution method, the results obtained, and a discussion. The project closed with a poster presentation.
For the occasion, three prizes were awarded by the jury, which was very impressed with the quality of the projects.

1st prize : $500, Simon Larivière-Clermont, Detection and Management of Grounding Faults in an Electric Car;
2nd prize : $300, Nima Esmailzadeh, Optical Projection Tomography;
3rd prize : $200, Gaétan Gilles Schoupong Tchebou, Development of a standard SCADA in Visual Basic.
