For this eighth edition of the national 24 heures de science event, on May 10 Polytechnique Montréal played host to some 250 elementary and secondary 3 and 4 students from across Québec for a very unusual activity! The various teams took part in a rally, taking Polytechnique's departments and public spaces by storm.

Folie Technique (Polytechnique's science day camp) leaders accompanied the science buffs through a range of exciting challenges, specially concocted by the experts at Polytechnique Montréal, for a true science odyssey. The teams that completed the most challenges won prizes and event souvenirs.

Through this activity, the young people had a chance to familiarize themselves with various engineering applications, and to learn about the multiple facets of the engineering profession.

In the morning, Polytechnique welcomed the elementary schools La Petite-Patrie and Alphonse-Pesant and the high schools Monseigneur-Richard, Antoine-de-Saint-Exupéry and Lucien-Pagé. Collège Français, Collège international Marie-de-France and École secondaire du Chêne-Bleu took part in the afternoon activities.

On May 11, as part of the Complètement robot techno project launched last November, more than 100 young people presented their creations to their parents, professors and student mentors from Polytechnique's electrical and computer engineering programs. For their projects, the students designed and manufactured a structure located in a specific environment populated by robotic machines. Congratulations to the winners, the participants and all those who helped make the event happen!
