The PCA is the highest recognition awarded by the International Plasma Chemistry Society (IPCS). It recognizes the lifetime achievements of a researcher in the plasma chemistry community.

Professor emeritus in the Department of Engineering Physics at Polytechnique Montréal, Michel Wertheimer will be receiving the Plasma Chemistry Award at the ISPC-21 conference, which will be held in Cairns, Australia, from August 4 to 8, 2013.

Professor Wertheimer's research focuses on the study of “cold” (non-equilibrium) plasmas, mostly for application in materials science. In recent years, he and his team have specialized in the area of biomedical applications, particularly on thin plasma polymer coatings destined for use in cell culture and tissue engineering.

Our sincerest congratulations!
