2005 convocation ceremony Congratulations to our grads!
In 2004-2005, École Polytechnique awarded 1,054 diplomas, including 613 bachelor's degrees in engineering and nine
bachelor's degrees in science. At the post-graduate level, Polytechnique issued 222 master's degrees in applied science, 124
master's degrees in engineering, 43 specialized graduate diplomas and 43 doctorate degrees.
QUÉBEC LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR AWARD
The Québec Lieutenant-Governor Award was presented to Luis Manuel Pereira Da Cruz, a graduate of the bachelor of electrical
engineering program, for his personal, social and community commitment and the quality of his academic results.
TEACHING-EXCELLENCE AWARDS
École Polytechnique presented Teaching-Excellence Awards to Michel Perrier, a professor in the Department of Chemical
Engineering, and to Samuel Pierre, a professor in the Department of Computer Engineering.
EMERITUS PROFESSOR
École Polytechnique presented Michael R. Wertheimer with the title of Emeritus Professor for his outstanding contribution to
the Polytechnique community and to the field of engineering physics.
HONORIS CAUSA
Engineer Khalil E. Barsoum was presented with an doctorate honoris causa on the recommendation of Université de Montréal for
his remarkable professional contribution in the area of computer science and information technologies.
