Professor Michel Perrier appointed Vice-Chair of the International Federation of Automatic Control committee

Michel Perrier, full professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, has just been appointed Vice-Chair of the International Federation of Automatic Control's (IFAC) Technical Committee on Biosystems and Bioprocesses. IFAC includes some 40 national member organizations examining all aspects of the automatic control industry.
The mission of the IFAC Technical Committee on Biosystems and Bioprocesses is to determine priority avenues of research in the field and host international conferences on the topic. The Committee includes about 30 representatives from several countries.
 
Professor Perrier will serve in his new position until the next IFAC World Congress, which is to be held in Seoul in July 2008.
