Professor François Bertrand receives honours
Professor François Bertrand, Senior Vice President and Vice President, Academic and Research at Polytechnique Montréal, was recently honoured with distinctions from two prestigious institutions who recognized his scientific contributions in the field of multiphase flow research. The Chemical Institute of Canada named Professor Bertrand a 2019 Fellow, and the North American Mixing Forum (NAMF) bestowed him the 2019 NAMF Award of Excellence.
Chemical Institute of Canada Fellow for 2019
François Bertrand was named a Chemical Institute of Canada Fellow for 2019 as of October 1st, in recognition of his role as a leading expert in the multiscale modeling of multiphase flows in chemical engineering processes.
With this honour, the Chemical Institute of Canada highlights Professor Bertrand’s scientific research excellence, results from which have impacted multiple companies, as well as his contribution to Canada’s economic development through the training of a significant number of highly qualified industry specialists.

NAMF 2019 Award of Excellence
NAMF conferred its 2019 Award of Excellence to François Bertrand on November 13, during the annual American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) meeting, which took place in Orlando, Florida.
This honour celebrates Professor Bertrand’s innovative research contributions in his field of specialty.
