Polytechnique students win the AQTr's "three days, three nights" challenge

The competition and award took place as part of the 48th annual conference of the Association québécoise des transports (AQTr).

Teams of three to five students faced off over a question. The teams had been told two weeks ahead of time what general topic the question would fall under, and were given the full question on the Friday before the conference. Each team had three days and three nights to prepare an answer, and on the Monday each gave a 30-minute presentation to five members of the AQTr Board of Directors.

This year's topic: propose an action plan following the emergency closure of the Champlain Bridge. The plan had to include security management, traffic management, communications management and the incorporation of complementary modes of transportation.

The competition's goal is to encourage the next generation and to find innovative solutions for current problems in the transportation field.
