PolyProject off to a great start
The conference, which each year brings together world leaders in the field of fibre-optics, was held at Polytechnique this
year. To follow up on their sensor glove, an invention they designed a few months ago, the members of PolyProject exhibited a
poster presenting the ways the product could be made at low cost using fibre-optic sensors. The goal: to make the prototype
accessible to the market at an affordable price. Evaluated by highly qualified judges, PolyProject distinguished itself among
33 other teams from universities all over the world.
The proud young Polytechnique award winners will have the chance to contribute to a publication on the topic for the Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
It is also worth noting that the design and manufacture of the sensor glove has already earned PolyProject several awards,
including third place in the Innovative Design category at the prestigious 2011 Canadian
Engineering Competition.
Polytechnique congratulates the whole team and wishes it the best of luck in the future!
