On March 29, more than 350 people attended the 2012 Soutien à l'excellence ceremony at the Bell Amphitheatre. Loyal donors provided a total of 330 grants and three awards, representing an overall amount of $830,000.

For Polytechnique and for its Foundation, this annual event represents a key opportunity to highlight student excellence, but also to salute the institution's partners' generosity and commitment to supporting future generations.

Year after year, our donor companies and organizations continue to contribute, and they show no sign of waning enthusiasm. They offer tangible proof that our students' efforts are rewarded.

For the winners, these grants are of major significance. In addition to providing them with financial encouragement, they also help students envision promising horizons for the future.

Pierre Lafleur, Dean of Academic and International Affairs, took the opportunity to congratulate the winners when he officially opened the evening: “By demanding the best of yourselves and expending all the efforts required to pursue your studies in engineering, you remind us of what ambition and perseverance really mean.”

We heartily congratulate the many winners, and thank the businesses, associations, Polytechnique graduates and foundations that, through their tangible encouragement, support our students' quest to excel.
