Marie-Christine Denis, BA, Civil Engineering, receives Sigma Xi Excellence in Undergraduate Research award

Founded in 1886, Sigma Xi is an honour society that brings together scientists and engineers from around the world to promote original scientific research. The Montréal chapter, established at McGill University and composed of academic, government and industry representatives, awarded the 2005 Sigma Xi Excellence in Undergraduate Research award to Marie-Christine Denis, a final-year civil engineering student, for her final project on evaluating the effectiveness of the 100-m passing zone in terms of road safety.

Ms. Denis was presented with her prize on June 2 during Polytechnique's Journée de la recherche.
