Graduation convocation: Hats off to our graduates!
Of the 1,002 degrees awarded by the school for the 2005-2006 academic year, 625 were Bachelors of Engineering, and six were
Bachelors of Science.
In graduate studies, Polytechnique awarded 178 Master's degrees in Applied Science and 94 in Engineering, along with 46
advanced graduate diplomas (DESS) and 53 doctoral degrees.
The ceremony was also an occasion for the school to honour a number of professors, researchers and engineers whose brilliant careers have made notable contributions to the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge in our society.

Engineering received the Excellence in Teaching Award.
Professor Emeritus
École Polytechnique bestowed the rank of Professor Emeritus upon Daniel Rozon for his
exceptional contribution to the Polytechnique community regarding the promotion of nuclear engineering.
Honorary Doctorate
Engineer Kazimir Olechnowicz was awarded an honorary doctorate for his exceptional professional contribution in all emerging
sectors of civil engineering.
Honorary Doctorate
Professor Alain Aspect of the École Polytechnique de Paris was awarded an honorary doctorate for his significant contribution
to quantum optics and atomic physics. The honour was bestowed during the Université de Montréal graduation convocation on

The graduates now join the ranks of their predecessors: the long list of Polytechnique alumni who have left important works
in their wake or contributed to the well-being of society, in keeping with the engineer's pledge.
Congratulations to our latest graduates!
