Graduate student in Industrial Engineering to study ergonomics of construction trades

Marie-Ève Chiasson, a PhD student in Industrial Engineering, has received a $36,000 bursary from the l'Institut de recherche
Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (Robert-Sauvé Institute for Research into Workplace Health and Safety --
IRSST), spread over the next two years, to conduct a study of the ergonomics of construction trades.
Under the direction of Professor Daniel Imbeau of the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering, who is also holder of the Canada Research Chair in Ergonomics, Marie-Ève will be conducting research aimed at developing a method for the systematic documentation of the physical requirements related to non-repetitive activities such as those found in the construction trades.
Marie-Ève holds a bachelor's degree in Physical Activity Studies from Université du Québec à Montréal and a master's in Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics option, from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
