Folie Technique science day camp: it's registration time already!

For its 23rd edition, Folie Technique, Polytechnique Montréal's summer science day camp, is offering a number of themes designed to appeal to young people aged 7 to 17. Supervised by a team of Polytechnique students who are keen to share their passion, girls and boys from second year primary school to secondary 5 are invited to discover the incredible world of science.

This year, campers will have eight themes to choose from:

Architecture and civil engineering
Campers will design a bridge and learn about wastewater.

Electrical
Young people will discover the various uses for renewable energy and will build a metal detector.

Mechanics and physics
Campers will have the opportunity to learn about Archimedes' principle and build their own nautical vehicle!

Biochemistry
Chemical reaction fans will get a chance to test molecular cooking!

Computers
The perfect theme for video game and robotics lovers!

Multi-science
A theme that will introduce 7- and 8-year-olds to the world of science.

Aerospace and advanced computers

*Aerospace
In teams, campers will design and build a rocket, then they'll launch it!

*Advanced computers
Campers will team up to design a game that takes place in a fantastical universe.

*The Aerospace and Advanced Computers themes are aimed at young people who have finished secondary 3 or 4. They take place over a two-week period.

During their time at camp, all participants will have the chance to carry out a 10-hour engineering mini-project and will present them to their parents and friends on Friday nights during the week's closing gathering.

The camp runs Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from July 1 to August 16, 2013. A $15 discount will be applied to all registrations received by April 10, 2013. Note that Polytechnique employees benefit from a $50 discount per child registered, thanks to the Fonds d'initiative aux employés.
