Altogether, 25 former student athletes were in the spotlight during celebrations surrounding the 25th anniversary of the Alliance Sport-Études, enseignement supérieur program (combined sports-studies program for higher education).

A photo exhibition of 25 former student athletes who pursued higher education was the highlight of the evening gathering, held on Thursday, November 25, at the Centre CDP Capital in Montréal. The event also emphasized the support provided to more than 7,500 Québec student athletes who benefited from the program and succeeded in their professional lives following their sports careers.

Évelyne Boisvert, a 1995 Polytechnique Montréal graduate in aerospace engineering and an Olympic diver, won gold on the tower at the 1995 Canada Games and at the 1993 Canada Cup. She also won a silver medal in the Olympic trials and qualified for the Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992. Now an aeronautical engineer with Bombardier Aerospace, she remains involved in diving as Chair of Québec's diving federation and as a national and international judge.

The mission of the Alliance Sport-Études program is to provide educational services adapted to top Québec athletes who are pursuing higher education at the college or university level. Signing up with Alliance Sport-Études helps student athletes reconcile the requirements of training, competition and studies.
