Dr. André Bazergui honoured by Green Aviation Research & Development Network (GARDN)
Dedicated teacher, ardent inventor, resourceful engineer, Dr. Bazergui has long played a leading role in academic, industrial
and socioeconomic spheres. After graduating with a mechanical engineering degree from Polytechnique in 1963 and a PhD from the
University of Sheffield (U.K.) in 1966, Dr. Bazergui spent over 30 years at Polytechnique, where he held the positions of
professor, researcher, department head and Director General before eventually joining the private sector.
As an Innovitech associate from 1998 to 2004, he assumed a number of strategic mandates, mainly in the areas of aerospace, life sciences and the media arts. In 2005, he produced a report that led the Ministère de l'Immigration et des Communautés culturelles du Québec to launch a series of bold initiatives to facilitate the integration of immigrant professionals. He also chaired the task force created to look into accelerating the recognition of credentials and skills obtained outside of Québec.
The GARDN Award Recognition acknowledges outstanding contributions to the founding and success of the organization,
honouring those who, through their vision and energy, overcame obstacles to make the project a reality and continue to be
committed to its success.
Congratulations to Dr. Bazergui for this honour!
