Polytechnique Montréal professor Gilles Savard and ExPretio Technologies honoured at Célébrons le partenariat!, an ADRIQ event celebrating collaboration
On Thursday, September 23, the prestigious event honoured six successful and carefully chosen Québec research partnerships.
Hosted by the Québec Industrial Research Association (ADRIQ) under new President and CEO Jean-Louis Legault, Célébrons le partenariat! took place at Bonsecours Market in Old Montréal. The gala event paid tribute to the researchers, entrepreneurs and stakeholders who had maximized the networking possibilities offered by the National Research Council of Canada's Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
ExPretio Technologies honoured
By designing revenue management and pricing solutions for rail and air transport networks, Gilles Savard (Full Professor,
Mathematics and Industrial Engineering, and Director, Research & Innovation, École Polytechnique de Montréal) and Patrice
Marcotte (Full Professor, Computational Science and Operational Research, Université de Montréal) created a new spinoff
company, ExPretio Technologies. Thanks to partnerships with companies like Bell Canada, Air Canada, Thalys, Mobile Maestria and
the SNCF and support from the NSERC, NRC-IRAP, MDEIE and MITACS, their management solutions are now deployed
internationally.
École Polytechnique was also honoured for two other collaborations:
Project: Optimizing machining processes for multilayer composites (carbon fibre, aluminium, titanium) in
aviation manufacturing
Partners: ÉTS, École Polytechnique de Montréal (Dr. Marek Balazinski), CTA-Cégep Andrée-Laurendeau, UQTR
Project: Developing tools to design and deploy efficient supply chains in the forest products
industry
Partners: Université Laval, École Polytechnique (Dr. Paul Stuart), Concordia University
