Titre :
Heterogeneous simulation platform for machine experience in cyber-physical energy systems

Conférencier
: Younes Seyedi – Polytechnique Montréal, Canada

The evolution of modern power systems with high penetration of smart homes, electric vehicles and renewable energy sources (e.g., wind and solar) has brought about the concept of Cyber-Physical Energy Systems (CPES). Basically, the CPES are intelligent power systems which rely on cyber components such as communications, computing, and automatic control systems to provide safe, clean, and sustainable energy. Advanced sensing technologies such as smart meters (SMs) and phasor measurement units (PMUs) are employed to acquire accurate and high-resolution data from the physical components of the energy system. Analysis of machine experience in the CPES involves different types of simulators. However, the results of a simulator cannot be directly interpreted by other simulators. To overcome this challenge, a heterogeneous simulation platform (HSP) is under development that bridges the gap between the communication network simulator and the power system simulator.
