Résumé
The lake game, introduced by Mäler, Xepapadeas and de Zeeuw in 2003, models the strategic interactions of several players sharing a common resource. The players derive benefits from the resource, which depend on its overall quality, and of individual actions, which degrade the resource. The special characteristic of this game is that there is a tipping point of the lake dynamics beyond which a positive feedback mechanism sets in that effects a regime shift to a much degraded state of the resource.
