Rules and quotas

Students

  • Your e-mail account has a maximum of 200 MB of disk space available for all your folders.
  • The maximum message size, whether sent or received, is 8 MB (including encoding), which translates into a maximum useable size of roughly 6 MB per message.
  • The following folders are created automatically when your account is opened :
    • Inbox
      Contains new messages.
    • Inbox-archive
All messages older than 30 days will be automatically moved to the current year archive folder and deleted from your Inbox. If you do not wish to have them automatically archived, you must transfer them to the folder of your choosing. Once stored in the Inbox archive, all unread messages older than one year will be deleted.
    • Spam
Any detected junk mail is automatically sent to the spam folder, with the indicator [PP?] added to the subject heading. Since these messages never enter your Inbox, you need to check your spam folder from time to time to ensure that no valid messages have been mistakenly filed as spam. You also need to empty your spam folder periodically, since the messages it contains are calculated as part of your 100 MB limit.
    • Trash
Any messages you delete (if you’ve activated this option in your e-mail application) will be moved to the Trash. This lets you retrieve any message deleted by mistake. All messages older than 30 days will be permanently erased from the Trash folder each week.
