Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT)
Objectives
The objectives of the Groupe Polygistique are:
- To contribute to the understanding and development of methodologies that address the technological, economic
and organizational aspects of designing and managing logistics activities;
- To contribute to the improvement of logistics engineering practices in businesses;
- To produce personnel who are highly skilled in supply-chain logistics.
Program
Research at the Groupe Polygistique addresses the technological, economic and organizational aspects of the design and management of logistics activities. Research conducted by the Groupe takes a special interest in both integrated-supply-chain optimization and logistics activities related to public services. Research activities focusing on operational problems in logistics and, information and decision-making aid systems constitute important components of the program.
The research program encompasses the following areas:
- inbound logistics (layout, material handling, inventory control, warehousing, packaging, order picking,
shipping, receiving, cross-docking, reverse logistics, production and sustainable development, maintenance);
- outbound logistics (transportation and distribution);
- public services logistics.
Students have access to workstations equipped with specialized software in simulation and in optimization. They also have access to the equipments of the CIRRELT.
