Research Specification
The researchers are interested in the behaviour analysis of mechanical components and in their testing, in order to determine
their service life. Main research topics are as follows:
a) fatigue, creep and fatigue-creep interaction, fracture mechanics;
b) structure and pressure-vessel stress analysis using analytical, numerical (finite elements) and experimental techniques;
residual stress and stress concentration;
c) design of various mechanical components and evaluation of their static structural integrity;
d) dynamic behaviour of machines and structures; vibration testing and modal analysis; industrial noise and vibration
control;
e) behaviour of bolted joints and their tightness at room and elevated temperatures;
f) experimental stress-analysis techniques and development of delicate sensors.
