Canada Research Chair in Discrete Nonlinear Optimization in Engineering (ONDI)
This Chair supports the development of novel efficient solution methodologies for discrete nonlinear optimization problems in engineering. Such problems occur in numerous real-life applications. The Chair collaborates with public transport providers to optimize express bus services and provide the best possible service. Other research activities address the design challenges of smart grids that will allow power companies to efficiently satisfy the ever-increasing demand for electricity and the need to incorporate renewable sources of energy in the power grid.
