Investigate the technical and economic feasibility of the biorefinery implementation in pulp and paper mills.
Develop processes simulations of the hemicelluloses extraction and transformation, the lignin recovery and primary
treatment, and the gasification of forest biomass (wood residues, spent delignification liquor).
Propose new methodologies for energy optimization of the biorefinery units and pulp and paper processes.
Contribute to the development of green integrated forest biorefinery concept.
Develop and maintain a collaboration with Canadian and foreign universities and industrial partners working in the
biorefinery field.
