Research Specification

Research in radio frequency (RF) technologies is booming since the beginning of the millenium. The motivations that have led to this boom include the implementation of new wireless services, the utilization of new materials in the realization of new and low cost RF components, and the development of radars and sensors for the security of public locations, the environment and in biomedical applications. In parallel, a considerable progress over the last years in different high-tech sectors originates partially from the eleboration of new micro- and nano-manufacturing processes, which allow the development of sophisticated materials and structures for high frequencies. Radiofrequencies are key in research and applications that impact a high number of strategic sectors (security, astronomy, aerospace, telecommunications, transport, environment, agriculture, aeronautic, biomedical,...). All these sectors are promoted and supported by the Government of Quebec. For exemple, radar sensors represent promising field of research for supporting the development of novel approaches in the environmental domain. The Center of Research in Radiofrequency Electronics (Centre de Recherche en Electronique Radiofréquence, CREER) provides a unique platform for joining together professors and researchers in the field of RF technologies (300 MHz-300 GHz).

The Center of Research in Radiofrequency Electronics, Centre de Recherche en Électronique Radiofréquence (CREER) joins professors, researchers, technicians, associate researchers and graduate students throughout Quebec working in different sectors of RF technologies. Thus this cluster provides a critical mass of researchers in this growing field. All the members have facilities Affiliated to different universities in Quebec. The centre provides the accessibility to all these facilities with low costs. Moreover, by joining the members Affiliated to different universities, the training of highly qualified personal becomes available to all students members of CREER.  Finally, the centre CREER increases the visibility of our researchers thanks to our seminars, workshops and symposia which are of interest to our academic and industrial partners.
