Professor Caloz is now working on the development of the second generation of MMs, which is anticipated to be based on
miniaturization technologies. He is also working on the integration of additional natural ingredients such as ferroelectric,
ferromagnetic, and nano-structured materials. In the process, he is investigating many new types of MM structures (for example,
those that are 2D, 3D, terahertz, quasi-optical, nonlinear, active) and MM applications, including advance/delay lines,
couplers, phase shifters, mixers, antennas, reflectors, frequency selective surfaces, and ultra-wideband pulse generation and
manipulation.
