Project title
Critical analysis of emerging product portfolios and biorefinery processes.
Director | Co-director |
Project description
The challenge related to forest biorefinery projects is to establish an early stage evaluation strategy based on both process and product considerations. At the prefeasibility level , market uncertainties associated with technical & technological developments imply potential risk. Developing a systematic methodology for low potential process-product combinations elimination is needed. It relies on establishing and apply show stopper criteria for the selection of a preferred design scenario based on an understanding of potential technology integration into the mill context.
These show stoppers are applied, through a Multi Criteria Decision-making (MCDM) methodology, and lead us to :
• carry out a sorting of process options for biorefining projects and specify design recommendations considering various industrial scenarios.
• to emphasize several interesting product portfolios for FBR projects for firms willing to invest, considering flexibility and other techno-economic criteria.
