The third International Symposium was designed to survey the advances made up to now in the development of new materials for electrochemical systems. Well over two hundred and fifty delegates from all around the world and from different disciplines met to hear one hundred and twenty papers and thirty poster contributions. All are collected within the present volume as extended abstracts. They will serve as reference to events, opinions and views on new materials in fuel cell and modern battery systems at this time.
