Prospective graduate students

Working while studying

Canadian citizens and residents are entitled to work while studying. Since our thesis-based master’s and doctorate students are necessarily registered as full-time students, it is assumed that they will have a job that requires only a few hours of their time per week.

On the other hand, international students holding a student permit are strictly entitled to work on-campus. Should you get caught working somewhere else, you could be expelled out of Canada. ( www.polymtl.ca/inter/etuvisi/en/travailstages/index.php)

Several jobs are available at Polytechnique. Many teaching-related jobs are available at the beginning of each fall and winter semester, including positions as:

  • junior lecturer;
  • teaching assistant;
  • practical work tutor;
  • laboratory assistant;
  • graders.

You can also find a job at Polytechnique during the semester or at the end of it. The available jobs include:

  • correcting positions;
  • exam supervision positions.

To enquire about these job positions, contact your professors or your student association (AÉCSP).
