China Scolarship Council (CSC) Scholarships

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is a non-profit institution with legal person status affiliated with the Ministry of Education. The objective of the CSC is to provide, in accordance with the law, statutes and relevant principles and policies of China, financial assistance to the Chinese citizens wishing to study abroad and to the foreign citizens wishing to study in China in order to develop the educational, scientific and technological, and cultural exchanges together and economic and trade cooperation between China and other countries.

Canada-Brazil Ciência sem Fronteiras Scholarship Program

Ciência sem Fronteiras is a scholarship program in Brazil for Brazilian students. The program is financed by the federal government and supported by the private sector. Its main objective is to promote the consolidation and expansion of science, technology and innovation in Brazil by means of international exchanges and mobility. In March 2012, the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), in collaboration with the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and Languages Canada, signed an agreement with CNPq/CAPES (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico, Brazil’s national council for scientific and technological development, and Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior, a co-ordination council for the professional development of higher education personnel) for the administration of this program’s bursaries in Canada. The agreement is valid for five years and is expected to bring 12,000 Brazilian students to Canada.
