Prospective graduate students
Study costs
Tuition fees in Quebec are relatively moderate compared to those prevailing in the rest of North America, and more specifically Canada. At Polytechnique Montréal, tuition fees depend on your status in Canada: resident of Quebec, resident of another province, international student.
You will find more detailed information about tuition fees(*) on Polytechnique’s website. French citizens, as well as international students exempted from increased tuition fees (fixed amount) benefit from the same tuition fees as Quebec students. All students admitted and registered at the doctorate level can benefit from an exemption from differential fees. Master’s students can also request to be exempted from these fees by filling out the appropriate form available at the Registrar’s Office. However, exemptions will be awarded to only a few master's students.
In accordance with Quebec’s regulations, all international students and students from other Canadian provinces registered in a thesis-based master’s program must pay higher fees than Quebec students. However, in accordance with co-operation and bilateral agreements between the government of Quebec, foreign governments and international organizations, an exemption from increased tuition fees (fixed amount) is granted to a definite number d' students. This number is determined by a quota allotted to the governments and to the international organizations signatories. Consult the government of Quebec website for more information.
