Admission
In order to be admitted to a Master’s or an advanced graduate diploma (DESS) program at Polytechnique Montreal, you must fulfill the following requirements:

51.1 Application to the Master’s degree in a given discipline is permitted to the graduates of Polytechnique Montreal holding a Bachelor degree in engineering or another degree deemed equivalent by Polytechnique Montreal.
Candidates who hold a university degree in a scientific discipline or who possess training deemed sufficient by Polytechnique Montreal can also apply to a Master’s degree.
51.2 Any applicant to a Master’s degree must present an academic record with high standing and have achieved a GPA (Grade Point Average) of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale (or an equivalent average according to the university) during the studies leading to the obtaining of the required degree mentioned in article 51.1.
A candidate can be exempted from this rule by backing his/her application with sufficient evidence of his/her aptitude to undertake a Master’s program (such as relevant professional experience, studies subsequent to the achievement of a university degree, etc.).
51.3 Fulfilling the general admission requirements described in articles 51.1 and 51.2 does not automatically lead to the candidate’s admission to a given program. 71.1 General conditions Application to the Doctorate degree in a given discipline is permitted to the graduates of Polytechnique Montreal holding a Bachelor degree in engineering or a Master’s degree, and to all other candidates holding another degree deemed equivalent by Polytechnique Montreal.
A high standing academic record does not guarantee admission to a Doctorate program. Candidates must find a professor who agrees to supervise their work.
