Robert L. Papineau, Eng., PhD, Director General of École Polytechnique de Montréal, joined today with Charles Dieudé, Director of the Direction des industries du matériel aérospatial et de défense (Québec Regional and Economic Development Ministry), Alain M. Bellemare, President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Suzanne D. Corbeil, Vice-President, External Relations, of the Canada Foundation for Innovation, to officially open a technologically cutting-edge virtual-manufacturing laboratory that required investments totalling some $7 million. The occasion also served as the official launch of the new laboratory's Support Service for Québec's high-performance machining industry, representing an additional investment of $170,000 annually from the Regional and Economic Development Ministry, in partnership with the Québec Aerospace Association. The latter was represented today by the Executive Director, Serge Tremblay.

Normand Mousseau, directeur scientifique de l'Institut de l'énergie Trottier, déplore que les grands émetteurs de GES du Nouveau-Brunswick ne réduisent pas leurs émissions assez rapidement et critique la faiblesse des incitatifs économiques et les signaux contradictoires des gouvernements, estimant que le Canada prend du retard par rapport à l’Europe en matière de décarbonation.
