The Leipholz Medal is awarded yearly to a member of CSCE who has, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, made truly outstanding contributions to engineering mechanics or structural dynamics research and/or practice in Canada. This may be either through sustained activities over an extended period, or, if still at a relatively early stage in his or her career, through being either the author or the principal inspiration and one of the significant authors of three or more peer-reviewed papers on a relatively narrow topic over a period of two to five years in relevant Journals of international standing, such as the Canadian Journal of Civil Engineering.
