Marie-Claude Besner received a prize of $ 2 000 for her thesis entitled Risk assessment of drinking water contamination due to distribution system operation and service activities. The work of Marie-Claude Besner were supervised by Professor Michele Prevost from the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining.

Each year, during the graduation ceremony, Polytechnique Montreal gives an award to the student who wrote the best Ph.D. thesis.
