Research areas description
The LAVA mission is to investigate noise and vibration problems in high-technology areas including aviation, rail and road transportation, nuclear energy production, and equipment for professional athletes. We use cutting-edge technologies to develop innovative methods and solutions to problems such as composite structure damping, mechanical impacts and noise reduction.
The laboratory is under the direction of Dr. Annie Ross, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Polytechnique Montréal. The LAVA multidisciplinary research work is carried out in collaboration with numerous industrial partners and laboratories.
