Remembering and reflecting

The pain has made way for the continuation of life ... but the memory of the 13 Polytechnique Montréal students and one staff member who lost their lives on December 6, 1989, as well as the many people who were wounded physically and emotionally, lives on.

Today, the community chooses to favour a simple commemoration, more personal in nature. Therefore, early on the morning of December 6, a bouquet of 14 white roses will be placed before the memorial plaque and campus flags will be lowered to half-mast. White ribbons, symbol of the struggle to stop violence against women, will be available at the office of the Association des étudiants de Polytechnique.

The memory lives on...
